Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County: 9th Annual Celebration Luncheon

Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County is part of a national dropout prevention network. With over 200 affiliates nationwide, Communities In Schools is helping 1.3 million students stay in school and achieve in life.

Through a school-based social worker, CIS works inside schools to assess each child’s unique needs, develop a case management plan, and connect students and their families to critical community resources tailored to individual family needs.

Yesterday, staff from WD attended the Greater Tarrant County division’s 9th Annual Celebration Luncheon. From opening remarks by Mayor Betsy Price to a moving speech by Brewer High School senior, Katelyn Stepp, outlining the impact the CSI has made in her life, we left the luncheon feeling inspired by the incredible work that this organization is doing in our community.
