Our goal at Warren Douglas (WD) is to be innovative while showcasing the absolute greatness of our culture. With that in mind, we would like to officially announce that we are on Snapchat as @WDadvertising. With Snapchat’s hiring of Facebook’s Sriram Krishnan, and debuting their live web player for the Oscars, it is time to get serious about this unique platform.

More than 60 percent of US 13-to-34 year-old smartphone users are Snapchatters. Snapchat is the video messaging social media platform with more than 100 million daily active Snapchatters viewing approximately seven billion videos every day. This platform provides perspective, stories in real-time, and a way of expressing yourself or your brand in an authentic and genuine way. It is a broadcast format, and should be addressed as such. You can also send money through Snapchat with the use of Snapcash and Square.

Snapchat users can broadcast Snaps (photos) or a Snapchat Story (video) that only last 24 hours. This platform provides WD a new way to engage with other advertising agencies, possible recruits, hopeful clients and an inside look at WD.

Many celebrities, such as John Mayer, Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik are on Snapchat. Bernie Sanders launched a ‘Feel the Bern’ Snapchat filter for his presidential campaign (we neither support or endorse this candidate). Marketer influencers, such as Refinery 29, Brit & Co, BuzzFeed and many premium brands including The Wall Street Journal, Mashable, Food Network, Vanity Fair, and ESPN are also on the Snapchat bandwagon. So, for us, joining Snapchat was a no brainer.

Giant Spoon Senior Strategist, Nathalie Con, said it best, “Culture is not just beer pong or field trips. We’re showcasing people and what they’re passionate about, because those are the things that ultimately drive them to do good work.”
