Warren Douglas Associate Creative Director to Add Teaching to His Portfolio

(Fort Worth, TX) — Warren Douglas Advertising’s Associate Creative Director, David Elizalde, has a new audience for his award-winning creative design. In hopes of integrating more business-related principles into the students’ curriculum, TCU’s department of graphic design has enlisted David to teach an undergraduate design course on Corporate Identity.

David has been on the professional review panel for the past two years where he critiques students’ design projects. He received his MBA from TCU’s Neeley School of Business, and is incorporating his knowledge of the corporate world into the course curriculum.

“Students will be interacting with brand managers and marketing departments on a regular basis when they graduate,” Elizalde said. “It’s important that they’re familiar with the drivers that will influence their creative deliverables. Understanding the environment of the client helps a designer deliver a more effective and strategic product.”

Elizalde has worked with corporate brands for the past 10 years including TXU Energy, Mrs. Bairds, Wright® Brand Bacon, Tyson Chicken, BRIANNAS Dressings and Essilor International. A native Californian, he designed for Pier 1 Imports before joining Warren Douglas in 2002.

“A multiple winner of the prestigious industry “Best in Show” Addy Award, David is an integral part of the creative strategy developed for each of our clients,” said Doug Briley, CEO of Warren Douglas Advertising.

“I will use the perspective I gained from my MBA education and years in agency life to try to help students understand the landscape of their future clients,” he said. “My first day was great—they call me Mr. E.”
