Local Fort Worth agency Warren Douglas, is managing the social media for the event. Lauren Gourley, Social Media Manager for the agency says, “We want to expand beyond just Twitter and Facebook, with location-based sharing. By integrating Four Square with up-to-the-minute Twitter updates, we will achieve our goal to make social media a successful and integral part of the tournament.” Notifications will include consumer offers and events from tournament sponsors such as Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Cadillac, Kodak, Del Frisco’s, Chimy’s, Eddie Deen Catering and Frankie’s Sports Bar and Grill. Tweeting throughout the tournament will have a special stream on the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial mobile website starting May 5TH, www.CrownePlazaInvitational.com.

Susan Nix, Tournament Marketing Chairman and VP at Warren Douglas says, “To help fans utilize their mobile phones in a PGA TOUR -friendly way and utilize what’s available to them on-site, we have elected to use TCU Marketing majors as volunteer Tweet Caddies to be on property all week. They will be available to assist fans with their Tweeting experience and help them take advantage of this unique opportunity. “Tweet Caddies” will be stationed at the main gate, the course clubhouse and at holes 1, 3 and 9, and will be dressed in TCU purple Nike shirts, making them easily recognizable by fans.
